The 5 beaches of Ibiza that you need to know

If you've come this far expecting a list of five names, we have to confess something:We're not going to give it to you.
Of course, we could do that. Tell you which are our favorite coves, where that hidden corner still retains a certain air of secrecy, or point out the exact spot from which to get the photo you've seen so many times on social media.
But we know Ibiza too well to just do it without further ado.

In the height of summer, thousands of us are searching for the exact same thing: that little slice of the Mediterranean that seems to be waiting for us. And when we all receive the same recommendations, save the same locations, and follow the same lists ofplaces you can't miss, the result also looks too similar.

So this month we want to do something different.

The best beach in Ibiza might also be the one you hadn't thought of.
Ibiza boasts around 210 kilometers of coastline and a huge variety of beaches and coves. Some are very well-known, while others are much less so, but enjoying the island shouldn't become a race to top a ranking.

Sometimes it's more worthwhile to ask which beach best suits you that day. If it's windy, if we're traveling with children, if we want to spend a few hours there or the whole day, if we're looking for a restaurant nearby or prefer to bring something to eat, even what time we plan to arrive.

That's where local knowledge makes a big difference.

From Ibiza Project, we prefer to guide our clients according to their specific needs and circumstances rather than sending them all to the same five locations. We can also help them plan their days to avoid unnecessary travel or arriving at a cove that's already completely overcrowded.

There are places that don't need more advertising, but more care.
Sharing a place also implies a certain responsibility.
The Ibiza coast is an extraordinary natural space, but also a vulnerable one. Pressure increases significantly during the summer months, and how we visit it matters.

There are some pretty simple things that help: always respect access points and parking areas, don't open new paths to get a little closer to the coast, take absolutely everything you've brought to the beach with you, and avoid leaving any waste, even if it's small.

It is also important to remember that beneath the sea we come to enjoy lies an ecosystem that we must protect: Posidonia oceanica. This ecosystem, fundamental to the quality and biodiversity of the waters of Ibiza and Formentera, requires that we respect the anchorage areas and never anchor on its seagrass meadows.

And something even more basic: a cove isn't improved by taking a souvenir from it. Shells, stones, plants, and any other natural element are better exactly where we found them.

Enjoy Ibiza without consuming it

Perhaps that is our true list of must-haves for this summer.

1.    You don't need to visit all the famous places.Choosing according to the day can lead you to discover a much more interesting Ibiza.
2.    If a place is crowded, change your plans. The island has enough alternatives that insisting is unnecessary.
3.    Ask someone who knows the area.An up-to-date recommendation is worth much more than a list that has been circulating on the internet for years.
4.    Leave the place exactly as you found it.Or, if someone arrived earlier with less care, all the better.
5.    Remember that you are a visitor.Ibiza is also home to thousands of people and a natural heritage that will still be here when August ends.

At Ibiza Project, we want you to get to know our islands. Really, really. We want you to find that cove where the day stretches on without you even noticing, to explore the interior, to sail, to eat well, and to go home already thinking about returning.

But precisely because we want to continue showing them to you for many years,We also want to help you take care of them while you're here..

So no, this time we're not going to tell you which are the five beaches in Ibiza that you have to know.
Perhaps we can recommend a much better one when you arrive.
