Ibiza Project
Come with Ibiza Project to the island that made tourists from around the world fall in love. We design and accomplish the vacation of your dreams, just as you have always imagined.
More quiet and relaxed than its bigger sister Ibiza, Formentera is known as the last paradise in the Mediterranean, a masterpiece of nature that tries to resist with its magic to changes in time and tourist invasion.
THE ISLAND AS A DESTINATION
Formentera was discovered by tourism in the 60s, when hippies and backpackers got here attracted by the unspoilt nature and wild atmosphere. Its reputation grew through word of mouth, and the island in the 70s began to be frequented by famous artists and musicians, who contributed to its legend. Since then, it has been an ongoing growth, with the European economic boom and the arrival of the tour operator before, and then then arrival of a VIP tourism that today makes Formentera a destination increasingly chic and trendy.
HOW TO GET THERE
You cant go wrong, there is only one way: fly to Ibiza and move to Formentera with a comfortable boat trip, with one of the 3 companies connecting the two islands (Mediterrenea Pitiusa, Balearia, Trasmapi).
HOW TO GET AROUND
By scooter
It is the most used way. Travelling the roads of the island, both along the coast and in the interiors, is an unforgettable journey through its wonderful territory, a landscape of unique sights, colours and scents.
By car
Perhaps less romantic, but recommended for those traveling with family and children. You may be thinking of hiring the legendary Mehari, the fun vehicle of Citroen which over time became a kind of symbol of the island.
On foot or by bycicle
Right, the small size of the island allows those who want to do a bit of movement to explore it also without vehicles. We recommed you the" rutas verdes", a network of wonderful paths that cover the whole island.
By boat
If you have the opportunity, the most intriguing way. Renting a boat (or partecipating in an excursion) allows you to fully experience its fantastic sea and discover hidden corners, impossible to reach by land.
WHERE TO SLEEP
You can choose the area, depending on tastes and needs. You can opt for main towns and services (Es Pujols), beaches and sea (Illetas or Mitjorn), or quieter and remote areas ( Es Calò, Cala Saona). The range of accommodations has grown a lot and includes apartments, refurbished traditional fincas, family run hostals and luxury hotels.
WHAT TO DO AND SEE
In addition to beaches and coves, the island's main attraction, exploring Formentera means moving among traditional villages (San Francesc and Sant Ferran), hippie markets, historic restaurants a well as more modern and international ones, old chiringuitos or trendy beach bars, folk and cultural events of all kinds.
WHEN
The Mediterranean climate of Formentera is good all year. If you don't like the extreme heat and higher tourist concentration, we recommend the months of low season, when prices are also considerably lowered.
